How do you get a life size sculpture from wax and clay to bronze? The entire sculpture has to be molded and then sectioned, so as to allow for the bronze to be poured, in pieces.. they are later welded together..
The hand for the life size, invested and ready for the burnout.
The top half of the 18 inch tall maquette about to be dipped in the investmenst. This is one of the many steps in the bronzing process.
September 1st. 1998.
And August 8th, 1999.
September 1st to the 10th, 1999.
The entired body of "Easy" is sectioned off into mold pieces, wax is then poured onto the molds. The next picture is of the wax after it has been pulled out of the mold. So now you see the pieces of "Easy" in wax.
September 10th 1999 is the day before the dedication of the Park in Winlsow and I am still 750 miles away in Nevada and this is what "Easy" looks like, and I have less than 24 hours to finish him and deliver him to the park in Winlsow.
Now to get the guitar in place, balanced on "Easy's" boot and held up under his hand.
Pictured here, my son Dustin, myself, and Josh Ricketts
Finally the Sculpture of "Easy" is finished at 1:30 pm on September 10th.
Now we put "Easy" into the pickup and head for Winlsow...
